Just finished Peter Abrahams 3rd book in the Echo Falls Mystery series, Into the Dark. Who does NOT want to write a mystery? It just seems like fun, and this series, while not gruesome, bloody or twisted, still has dead bodies, evil characters and suspense. Ingrid Levin-Hill is an eighth grader with a penchant for Sherlock Holmes mysteries. And, of course, things seem to happen. She’s a smart kid, not perfect, with imperfect but decent parents. This is a very readable series for either guy readers or girls. In this book, Ingrid’s beloved Grampy is accused of murder and it’s not that easy to prove he didn’t do it because Grampy has a secret he isn’t willing to let go of. Good summer read.
How wonderful these books sound. I loved a good mystery when I was younger and I still like to read a good mystery!
