Five TAG members plus Mrs. Johnson met on Saturday, February 5.  First order of discussion was the upcoming scheduled ‘Teen Mystery Night’.  We all decided that a quality event was what we wanted and the amount of preparation was not adequate to pull off a really good, unforgettable, superbly designed event…so (and this is a great suggestions), Teen Mystery Night will now be our summer kick-off event for teens (entering 7th-12th).  It is not always easy to re-consider what has been put into motion but this was a good idea to mark summer this way.  Mrs. Johnson brought up some suggestions to think about grants that are out there, especially the Cape Youth Force Grants Program.  Maybe next year.  Marketing the library’s services is still a goal of the group so next meeting, March 27 at 3 pm, we’ll be ‘taping’ promos for our favorite books/helpful websites/library service…..Those at this meeting were Kaitlin Meiss (SHS), Kourtney Meiss (Sturgis), Emily Walker (SHS), Lili Henderson (SHS), Lana Henderson (Wing).  The group encourages other interested teens to come forward to participate…looking for a few good teens – male & female, homeschool, private school and junior high possibles.  Summer should be another good time of teen volunteering.  Good suggestions at the meeting to sign up for programs when they sign up for summer reading so have a computer dedicated to that at the initial sign-up event.  Teen Advisory Group has gotten off to a very good beginning with this crew (and some others who gave input earlier on).  Thanks.
