THANK YOU FOR DANCING

It was a most excellent Author Moment.  Thank you to our audience and to Vanessa Gregory who spoke of her adventures with creating her first two books.  Vanessa is currently in active pursuit of the third book’s input from you out there.  You can connect with her project blog by going to: http://dreamjournalproject.tumblr.com/ . Vanessa has quite a retinue of YouTube videos…my favorite- The Writer’s Process – if I get this right you can watch right here.  The music was great with Vanessa’s ukelele and voice and Megan Orth providing voice harmony for a few originals and cover songs. We should be doing this again when the 3rd title is released – with tunes, I hope.  Great night….here’s the video:

MASSACHUSETTS TEEN CHOICE BOOK AWARD….Who to nominate, who to nominate? Nominate once, nominate often.

The Massachusetts Teen Choice Book Awards is extending the deadline for nominations for the 2010 MCTBA to *Friday, January 7, 2011*.  All young adult patrons aged 12-18 are eligible to vote online at http://www.readsinma.org/tcba .  The website will be updated with the new deadline. You can create an account using this website.  Once the account is created, you can nominate as many young adult titles as you want, including fiction, graphic novels and non-fiction.  *All nominations must be published in 2010.*

This award is all teen driven teens can nominate as many new titles that they enjoyed reading this year.  After the nominations are over, a ballot will be created and the voting will begin.

A moment with author Vanessa Gregory – Thank You for Dancing: a Shoutout to the World – and musician and artist…DECEMBER 22, 7-8 PM, SANDWICH PUBLIC LIBRARY. Vanessa is an SHS graduate with not just a little bit of eclectic talent.  We are happy to host her signing, maybe singing and talking about her self-published books.  Please join us for a ‘Moment with the Author’.  Open House with food upstairs in the Teen Reads area previous to the event from 5-6:30 pm.
