Thanks to Kevin Lasit, a few more teens are gaining skills in writing, this time screen-writing. A well-attended, all day workshop brought, as Kevin said, ‘A way in which you will never look at movies the same way again’, meaning, now one can see the ‘log line’, the story of the Hero told within and more. Hoping some of the participants will create a video for our ‘Night of the Unread’ contest but, if not, they are still out there with new ideas and ways of telling the story, the most human thing a human can do. Thanks, Kevin.
Last Wednesday evening they gathered…the Unread, the Read and the Reformed Unread. What a great group and what fun! Take a look at the video that started it all. You, too, can do this! Enter the NIGHT OF THE UNREAD VIDEO COMPETITION….download entry form or stop in at the library. I’d love to have a few more Unread Survivors have some fun creating a short video that promotes reading (whatever it is) and inspires others to visual creativity. DON’T FORGET….KEVIN LASIT “REEL WRITING AT THE LIBRARY” on Saturday, July 28th….still room for you to get some great insight into the screen-writing/storytelling techniques.
Note: The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, the Boston Bruins and your Massachusetts Library Systems are sponsors of the Teen summer Read programming. We thank the Sandwich Public Library AND the Sandwich Kiwanis Levreault Trust for further support of programming. OWN THE NIGHT is the official Teen Read Summer Program theme. I just fiddled with it…therefore, ‘Night of the Unread: Don’t let this Happen to YOU!’ …. just don’t.
PS: AND, A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SCRIPTED, FILMED, ACTED AND PUT THEIR EFFORT TOWARDS CREATING THIS FANTASTIC LIBRARY PROMO!
